Grandma, why do we memorize the Quran?

Happy childhood with faith

Childhood cannot be happy unless the correct belief is instilled. The fundamentals of the correct Islamic belief are: belief in God, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and in destiny, both good and bad. From these six fundamentals stem everything that must be believed in regarding matters of the unseen, and everything that God and His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, have informed us about. Part of belief in God Almighty is that we believe in everything that He has made obligatory for His servants and imposed upon them, foremost among which are the five pillars of Islam, which are: testifying that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God, establishing prayer, paying zakat, fasting Ramadan, and performing Hajj to the Sacred House of God for those who are able to do so, and other obligations that the pure Sharia has brought. Instilling the correct belief in the souls of children must happen in a calm and beautiful way that suits the child’s mental and intellectual abilities, takes into account his psychological and emotional state, addresses his mind and heart, and combines the legal fundamentals with practical ideas. We will not succeed in instilling the correct Islamic belief unless we use the Islamic method in instilling it, starting from the Book of God Almighty and the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.

As a step on this path, we present this educational series, full of practical ideas and purposeful stories, which are based on the Islamic faith. In this story (Grandma, why do we memorize the Quran?), we will learn with Hassan the ten secrets of memorizing the Quran. When our children know them and act upon them, they will love the Quran more and more, and strive to recite it, memorize it, contemplate it, and act upon it, so that they will be among the people of the Quran, who win its blessings in this world and its intercession in the hereafter. We ask Allah for success and acceptance.
