Renew your life
Sheikh Muhammad Al-Ghazali wrote the book “Renew Your Life” after reading the book “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living” by Dale Carnegie.
In this book, the author shows that the directives of the Islamic religion contain guidance and advice that can help a person live his life happily and with peace of mind throughout his life.
This is done by comparing the teachings of Islam as they have reached us, and the most accurate of what Western civilization has achieved in terms of self-manners and behavior.
The Sheikh presents the texts and rulings of Islam. He compares them with Carnegie’s writings, experiences and evidence. This confirms the value of Islam and its approach to dealing with the human soul.
In this book, the author shows ways to develop oneself, based on examples from real life. He discusses the human being, trying to correct his moral and emotional distortions by following the teachings of Islam.
Quotes from the book:
Do not hang your life on a wish born of the unseen, because this hope will not bring you any good.
Man is the most in need of all creatures to search within his soul and to take care of his private and public life in a way that preserves it from illness and disintegration.
Sweet dreams die in the souls of the lazy.
How beautiful it is for a person to reorganize himself from time to time, and to send critical glances at his aspects to recognize his faults and defects.
In another place, the writer says: (Prayer in Islam means two things, one specific and the other general: one of them is these spiritual meals distributed throughout the night and day, including various actions such as reading, glorification, humility, purification, bowing, prostration, standing, and sitting according to the forms and forms prescribed for it by the Lawgiver. This prayer is a pillar in Islam from which a believer is not exempted from performing it, and it is to his heart and certainty like food to his body. Whoever maintains it, his religion will be sound, his faith will grow, and he will be nominated for God’s forgiveness and pleasure. Whoever neglects it, despite his knowledge of its right and its fruits, will be exposed to loss and destruction.)
He also says: (Since ancient times, reformers have known that the unemployment of the rich is a pretext for immorality. Youth and idleness are corrupting to a person.)
