Description

Princess of Andalusia

This novel is a play by the writer Ahmed Shawqi.

It takes place in the era when the era of the Taifa Kings in Andalusia ended - after the fall of the Umayyad state - in a period that prompted each prince of the state to build separate states from each other.

Several characters clash in the play, including Al-Mu'tamid ibn Abbad, his brother Yusuf ibn Tashfin, and Alphonse, King of the Franks.

The writer also relied on Al-Mu'tamid ibn Abbad and Buthaina bint Al-Mu'tamid as the two main heroes in this novel.

The novel shows the state of the kings of that time.

And how they lived in luxury and extravagance,

How corruption spread, and how many plots and intrigues arose in their kingdom,

Some of them were killed and some of them were deposed.

Some of them are bribers and some of them are bribed.

And other features that indicate an era full of ignorance and regression at all levels.
