The poet
Mustafa Lutfi Al-Manfaluti
Love for Cyrano de Bergerac was not just an empty word or a cold smile, but sacrifice in its highest form. While he loved his cousin Roxanne, he thought that his big nose prevented Roxanne from loving him back;
So he did not confess his love to her, and sacrificed the most precious thing in his life in order to make her happy.
Roxanne did not know what was in Cyrano's heart until he was on his deathbed.
It is a novel of sacrifice, altruism and self-esteem.
“Be the tongue and I am the thought, be the body and I am the soul, be the beauty and I am the necklace, be the flower and I am the perfume, be the eye and I am the light emanating from it.”
