On the spit
This book is written by Mustafa Sadiq Al-Rafei.
It is a critical book that embodies one of the most famous literary battles that took place between Al-Rafe’i and Al-Aqqad.
He wrote during a period marked by intense intellectual and literary conflicts, which in turn led to the enrichment of intellectual and cultural life in Egypt and the Arab world.
Critics have pointed out the reasons that prompted him to publish these articles, including that he wanted to free criticism from the yoke of enslavement to individuals.
Through these articles, Al-Rafei sought revenge for himself and his book, The Miracle of the Qur’an, in which Al-Aqqad accused him of plagiarism from Saad Zaghloul’s book.
The writer was successful in using the term “skewer” to refer to the painful and stinging criticism contained in these articles.
