My father's name is Ibrahim
Ahmed Khairy Al Omari
"My Father's Name is Ibrahim" is a novel that takes its general atmosphere from the story of our master Ibrahim. It derives some basic scenes from the real course of the story, and adds other scenes and characters for dramatic necessity.
The novel is based on the character of Ibrahim, a rebellious child who fights against all traditional institutions that exploit the human mind and try to hinder his thought, sight, and insight from reaching the truth.
The situation escalates between Ibrahim, the child, and the institutions represented by his father, grandmother, and temple priests. Ibrahim embarrasses them with many questions and discussions. They first try to silence him using traditional methods and silencing answers. But that doesn't work with him, so they try other methods, such as bringing in a special priestess to treat him.
But Abraham turns the situation on the priestess, and the matter turns against her instead of against him. As the situation escalates, Abraham’s search deepens, and he gets closer to the truth, by invalidating the idea of pagan pluralism on which his society was based.
With the nullification and abolition of pluralism, Abraham discovers the essence of pure monotheism, based on the fact that this perfectly crafted world could only have been made by one all-powerful God.
But his statement puts him in a greater confrontation with everyone - the truth threatens lies, and honesty repels falsehood. All of this put everyone on alert against our master Abraham.
The events escalate between suspense, excitement and fun, until they reach their end...
