Muslim character

To the scholar and Islamic thinker Muhammad al-Ghazali

This book is one of the most famous Islamic works, and the most famous book translated into many languages. It is one of the most important books collected by Islamic culture.

The book talks about what a Muslim's character is, what he should be like, and what are the basic rules on which a Muslim's character is based, as it brings together various topics.

Its introduction talks about the pillars of Islam, the foundation of morality, and their relationship to each other.

He went on to say, “Weak morals are a result of weak faith!”

There are some morals that a Muslim must have, such as sincerity to God Almighty in all his words and actions.

The heat of sincerity gradually fades away whenever the desires of selfishness and the love of praise arise in the soul.

And the desire for fame and prestige. And the desire for elevation and pride.

This is because God loves for work to be purified from turbid impurities (Surely, to God belongs pure religion).

The book also talks about being honest always and forever.

The Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, says: Seek truthfulness, even if you see that it leads to destruction, for in it lies salvation. The book speaks of other morals such as: trustworthiness, loyalty, good manners, forbearance, forgiveness, generosity, kindness, and patience.

He talked about the characteristic of modesty, which the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, described as the characteristic of Islam (Every religion has a characteristic, and the characteristic of Islam is modesty).

The writer also stressed the necessity of reforming the human soul, warning against the necessity of not mixing the soul’s forbidden desires with its established demands.

Quotes from the book (Muslim Ethics):

God has blessings in this world that only the pure and generous can attain.

Forcing virtue does not make a virtuous person.

Forcing someone to believe does not make him a believer.

Mental and psychological freedom is the basis of responsibility.

Islam appreciates and respects this fact as it builds the edifice of morality.
