The Long Road is a title that certainly suits the content of the novel. The path of struggle to obtain freedom is always the longest, but hope is always there, no matter how long it is.
The events revolve around the British mandate over Egypt and the suffering of the Egyptian people during that era from hunger, poverty, injustice and humiliation.
It talks about the simple farmer who finds his happiness while working his land despite the hardship he suffers, but the sacrifice he makes for his children in order to obtain the best education is enough for him to live happily.
It talks about the struggling people who sacrifice their lives for the freedom of their country.
A simple and easy novel in terms of content, and wonderful and distinctive in terms of style, values and principles.
