Establishing the Authority of the Sunnah
My previous book, Is There Doubt About the Sunnah?, shares with this book some general themes, but differs in its content, method of argumentation, structure, and level of discourse.
My aim in writing the first book was to simplify the discussions around the authority of the Sunnah, to make the responses to common doubts about it more accessible, and to present them in a clear language that non-specialized readers could benefit from. It was intended as a general defense against the wave of skepticism targeting established Islamic principles, and as a source of key answers for those affected by certain misconceptions.
As for this book, my intention was to serve the field of the authority of the Sunnah by strengthening the evidential framework that establishes its binding authority and obliges the opponent to respond. For this reason, it is mainly addressed to students of Islamic knowledge, those interested in intellectual discourse, and those concerned with the Sunnah. It is also directed at those who deny the Sunnah or cast doubt upon it.
I ask Allah, the Exalted, to make this book a means of strengthening the argument of those who debate the deniers of the Sunnah, to guide through it those who sincerely seek the truth after having strayed from the path of the believers, and to forgive me for my shortcomings and mistakes.
