Knowledge of the beautiful names and attributes of Allah is the knowledge that relates to Allah, the Almighty, His beautiful names and His sublime attributes. The more knowledge a servant has of the names and attributes of Allah, the Almighty, the more the servant will be able to serve his Lord, to be intimate with Him, to love Him and to revere Him, which will be a reason for winning the pleasure of Allah, the Almighty, and His Paradise, and enjoying looking at the face of Allah, the Majestic, the Generous, in the Hereafter. This goal will not be achieved except with the success of Allah, the Almighty.
Knowledge of the beautiful names and attributes of Allah plants in the heart good manners towards Allah and modesty before Him. Good manners towards Allah the Almighty are to perform His religion and to be well-mannered in accordance with His manners, outwardly and inwardly. No one can be well-mannered towards Allah except with three things: knowledge of His names and attributes, knowledge of His religion and law, what He loves and what He hates, and a soul that is prepared, receptive, soft, and ready to accept the truth in knowledge, action, and state.
