This book presents a comprehensive theory of soul purification.
Which derives much of its material from the book “Ihya’ Ulum al-Din” after revision, refinement and rearrangement.
Purification has meanings including purification and growth. It is also a purification of the soul and a cleansing from diseases and afflictions.
Therefore, its legitimate means, its nature and its legitimate fruits are what the book is concerned with clarifying.
And showing the effects of this on behavior, in dealing with God Almighty and with creation, and in controlling the limbs according to God’s command.
The book highlights the means of purification to spread the benefit; these include prayer, spending, fasting, Hajj, remembrance, contemplation, recitation of the Qur’an, contemplation, accountability, and remembering death.
